An update following our most recent meeting.
Stand Against Violence is looking for new Trustees, three to be exact. Our board currently consists of six.
We are particularly looking for people who are secondary school teachers, social/youth workers, magistrates, background in PR and media, health professionals and emergency service workers.
Obviously we only have three spaces and we do expect our trustees to take an active role and attend the monthly meetings. If you feel up to the challenge and think you would like to get involved please get in touch for more details.
We luckily now have enough money to attend the Education Show but we are looking to raise money for all the leaflets we will be taking. There are some grant applications pending which would be brilliant if we could get one approved.
Our website has now been updated and we have backing from Somerset County Council so their logo is on the site along with Taunton Deane Council. www.sav-ed.co.uk
The gaining of council support is one of several aspects of our O2 Think Big project. You can keep an eye on our progress here. http://www.o2thinkbig.co.uk/Projects/Project-Home/?clubId=47
Our new radio advert is in the making process. Another awareness advert to add to our library.
The Learning Resource Centre which provides schools with information and educational materials now stocks our material and will be sending our leaflets out with their next batch of newsletters to Somerset Secondary schools.
