NEXT FILM!

I think it's fair to say that from the reactions of people on the STAND AGAINST VIOLENCE film that it had the impact that was intended, which is a real achievement as we avoided the problems with so many educational videos which are patronising, funny or an rebel and do the opposite of what they are promoting.
But the film doesn't lecture anyone, it simply shows the consequences and allows them to absorb and reflect with a fight scene which doesn't glorify violence.
So how do we follow this?
I feel that the film illustrated the consequences of violence through Lloyd's murder and then opened it up to show that it was not a one off, it is a nation wide problem. What I want to next though is rather than repeat this film, is to look at why violence exists in our culture -
What makes one person insecure and unstable enough to carry out these actions while other people can go out to have fun without harming someone else?
With the potential funding from a drinks awareness campaign, we are now aiming to make a violence related to drink film for the web and DVD that will be interactive in a similar way to the fairly pioneering youtube anti knife crime which you can watch HERE
I'll use this blog as an update of this films concepts as it develops, it'd be great to have any ideas or inspiration or criticisms as a response as it goes along to make a film with the impact of the last one while developing off it to explore and prevent violent culture further.
